Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Several small, easy streams.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Three blowdowns on the Doublehead trail, otherwise clear.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Saw one dog all day. This would be a good, dog-friendly route.
Bugs
Bugs: I put on bug spray as soon as I started. They were slightly annoying, but not bad.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Found an empty can of Modelo beer right in the middle of the trail. My guess is that it fell out of someone’s backpack.

Comments
Comments: Started on Eastman Brook (easy) to Doublehead (steady incline) then across on Crawford-Ridgepole (ups and downs but nothing too crazy). I hadn’t planned on adding the OAB on Brooks Fisher, but it was there so I took it. Down on Old Mountain Road (wet) to where I had stashed my bike. A 4 mile bike ride completed the loop. The leaves are just popping and are small enough that there are still excellent views into the woods and of Squam Lake. Saw 9 people and one dog plus a 10 person hiking group on Brooks Fisher.
