I did a counter-clockwise loop with a little side bushwhack down into Jobildunc Ravine. My original plan was to follow an old abandoned trail along the river that shows up on Cal-topo maps, but I gave up on that and found it much easier to hike straight down through open woods from up on the ridge, just past the Beaver brook junction. The clouds were just high enough to get a glimpse of the headwall. Snowshoes were very handy today on my way up, but I still had to wring out my socks a few times from all the slush. Snowshoes were not needed on Gorge Brook. |
