This southern approach to Cube is immensely more scenic and interesting than the other two routes. Hadn’t been up it in five years and I forgot how magnificent it is. Trillium are out, and there is an insane amount of trout lily on this trail getting ready to bloom. Saw our first hobblebush blooming and Margaret spotted a solitary painted trillium.saw one hiker today who was spending the night out. Views from both peaks were amazing as always. Top of Moosilauke was in a cloud. Angry clouds were rolling in as we finished but we had amazing cool biking weather this afternoon. Top half of trail beyond the PUD was very wet. |
