| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Road is still closed but I LOVED the road walk. Saw so many flowers, cool plants, and butterflies!!! Spring was in full swing and it was AWESOME. |

| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Several blowdowns and one very annoying large on that is along the trail on a steep slab section on the trail where the real climb up begins. Other than this one all other blowdowns are manageable |
|
| Dog-Related Notes: |
Winry was the only pup on trail (with me). She dominated the slab section putting my skills to shame |
|
| Bugs: |
Bugs are starting to come out but aren't truly annoying yet. On the summit of north Percy they did hover around us quite a bit but knowing how bad they will get yesterday was nothing in comparison to what's to come |
|
| Lost and Found: |
Found a black velcro strap of sorts and left it but the sign. Found what appears to be a men's ring. If you can accurately describe it I will be happy to return it to its rightful owner |

One or two incredible small and manageable sections of ice on south Percy. No need for spikes they wouldn't even help. A glorious warm day. Trail was wet in some places but overall pretty dry. There is for sure a moose living in the saddle of these two peaks. At one point on trail I stopped and counted 8 piles of fresh moose poop, this was just what I could see immediately around me. I had never hiked in this area and was thoroughly impressed. It was very hot and sunny on the way up but the wind on the summits was quite brisk and felt nice. I think a lot of people skip south peak since its not on the list but I loved seeing the variety of vegetation on this summit. Found lots of star tipped reindeer lichen which is typically found in artic regions around the circumpolar north. This species is a preferred food source of reindeer and caribou. Nature is SO COOL!!!! I hope to do this hike again in the fall, it was great. |
