Comments
Comments: Two hikes are combined into this one report because they are so close to each other. (1) Made a loop to do Algonquin to Black Mountain Pond to Guinea Pond with a bike ride back to the Algonquin trailhead via Sandwich Notch Road. I think that the degree of difficulty would be about the same if this hike were done in the other direction. I missed the spur to Mary Cary Falls by about 0.1m, so I backtracked and almost missed it again! It doesn’t look like a trail where it junctions with the Black Mountain Pond trail, but it takes shape as you start in. (2) I needed this out-and-back section of the Crawford-Ridgepole trail to Doublehead. It starts out steep, then gets tricky on some boulders, then runs up and down. I didn’t love this trail.
