Comments
Comments: I was very pleasantly surprised at how enjoyable this hike was. I decided to approach from the west, and was very happy I chose that route. Right after I pulled into the parking space provided by the owner of the house at the intersection, the owner (and his young daughter) came over to describe the routes to the summit. He was really friendly and provided me with lots of directional hiking info. He maintains the road, which was a great condition. There is a sign and large cairn when entering the state forest; not sure if he maintains the road in the state forest, as well.

One route to the summit is along the ridge, which I was informed has good views from several fields along the ridge. After the first bridge on OGR, turn to the right and BW to the ridge to access this route.

The home owner also described a second route to the summit that I used. I walked through the gate and up OGR to the second bridge. Immediately before the bridge I turned right on a woods road. I was able to follow the woods road for about 0.3 miles until it petered out. From this point it was a relatively easy bushwhack over a couple of false summits to the RHP. I was going to descend along the ridge, but got pulled towards my ascending route, so I just followed the same route back down.
