| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Both parking lots (one small on the right heading toward AMC) and bigger on the left before small one in good condition. The sign however to start the trail not easy to see with GPS unless you look for it. |
|
| Surface Conditions: |
Dry Trail, Ice - Black, Wet Trail, Ice - Breakable Crust, Snow - Unpacked Powder, Standing/Running Water on Trail, Snow/Ice - Monorail (Stable), Snow/Ice - Monorail (Unstable), Slush, Snow/Ice - Small Patches |
|
| Recommended Equipment: |
Traction |

| Water Crossing Notes: |
Between water crossings that should be there, and some that shouldn't, you had to be careful either way. Beautiful waterfalls you had to cross were easy enough. Pretty muddy in some spots, but many others had created spots to go around and some spots were easy to avoid. |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Some downed trees, but not terrible. Some of the markers need to be touched up. Some of the markers had fallen off through the winter conditions, but otherwise not hard to follow. |

| Comments: |
Totally underestimated the technicality of this trail. Wasn't totally prepared for it. Skipped Webster because of how sketchy everyone says it is. Monorail was good and intact, however easily breakable since it's warm now. I missed footing a few times and sunk in because it's getting crushed by crampons. Crampons required higher elevation as the snow/ice/mud is mixed with travelling and slips easily. Once you get to the last 30 feet CLIMBING, it's dry as a bone. Summit also dry as a bone until you head toward Webster. That's a muddy mess. |
