Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Today's tasks focused on the lower section of Shaw Trail. I hiked up to where I left off yesterday and worked my way back down. One large hemlock has been cleared/trimmed for easier passage but the trunks will require a chainsaw. This one definitely made a sound in the forest when it fell. Brushed in a couple of unnecessary herd paths along the way. All of the smaller blowdowns have been cleared, including two new ones by the beaver pond that the local residents had felled. Hope they enjoy the pre-cut wood. :D

Comments
Comments: Mostly dry trail today except for the big hemlock mentioned above, which has fallen into a muddy drainage.

All of a sudden it's summer! Temps were in the low 80s when I finished up.
