Great day out on the trails for a long run. Owls head trail was nice minus the black flies chasing me. Once I got to the summit the bugs got better. Passed two hikers who didn’t say hello back to me (so rude!). Saw two more hikers on the summit of Martha and had a nice chat with them. They are working on the 52 with a view. We were all getting attacked by the black flies so I started heading over to Cherry pretty quickly. After this the bugs got better but I was also cruising so that might’ve been why. Grass isn’t high yet and trail is relatively dry besides the usual incredibly muddy spots. Once I hit the road I was excited to get back to the car. I ducked under the gate and ran the rest of the road before hopping on 115 and eventually back to my car at the trailhead. 11 miles and 2,800 feet of vert makes for a great day :) |
