Hancock Notch and Cedar Brook Trails are free of snow and ice. Only a few spots of very limited ice and monorail near the Hancock Loop Trail split, which should be gone in a few days. I did the loop counter-clockwise. I barebooted up South first since there was still quite a bit of snow and ice on this section. If you go down South, I'd suggest using spikes. I used spikes from South peak to the saddle between the peaks where the monorail was consistent, narrow and somewhat unstable. You could bareboot this, it's just a bit slippery. From the saddle to the North peak and back down North, the trail almost all bare ground with only a few short sections of melting/collapsing monorail. |
