|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Scar Loop: a few small-ish blowdowns
Scar: two large blowdowns together. One we delimbed two years ago, the other is right with it and needs cleanup.
Spur: several blowdowns, mostly before Crag Camp as you ascend. The tree holding the Chandler Fall sign has snapped and is leaning up.
Amphibranch/Link: section right near Appalachia has a climb over
Probably more small Spring cleanup to be done. I feel like some small stuff is down on Airline above the Scar intersection. |

| Comments: |
We took a few new-to-us trails today. Carried spikes, but never used them. Airline was essentially snow-free. We didn’t encounter any snow until above the Scar intersection. It could all be avoided by rock hopping or was able to be walked on carefully (soft snow atop firm base). Above tree line is snow-free. Descending Spur Trail, there was significantly more snow, but mostly supportive with a corn snow top layer. Punched through a few times where water had undermined the snow. Not really much of a monorail as this trail doesn’t see a lot of winter traffic. After Crag Camp, the snow rapidly disappeared. |
