| Comments: |
Trails is in good shape for late spring, damp in spots with some slippery rocks but nothing unexpected. About 3kft just before junction with AT there is some ice and snow patches. This continues all the way to Galehead peak. Some are maybe 50 ft long. None were deep or threatened post holing. Didn’t need my spikes although I brought them. Just need to slow down and pay attention to make sure you have a solid grip. I wore my trail runners for first time this season, no issues. I tried water proof socks for the first time and they were great, but not sure they were needed as water was mostly avoidable. Overall a great first non winter hike to start ramping back up for summer season. |
