Lower mountain is snow-free and fairly dry. A few small patches of ice starting around 3,000 feet, becoming more noticeable above 3,600 feet, but nothing more than a few feet long or a couple feet wide. Longest stretch was on the Sosman (toward the ski area) just after the junction, but even that was short-lived. I never felt the need for any sort of traction. All patches could either be walked over or alongside WITHOUT stepping off the trail (PLEASE don't trample the vegetation/moss alongside the trail; it creates long-term trail creep and erosion).
Ski trails are mostly snow-free and dry and the vegetation isn't too tall yet. There are a few piles that will last into June, but nothing big enough to link many turns together.
Cloudy morning with light rain/mist starting after 10 AM.
