Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Parked at the Direttissima lot. Glen Ellis lot remains closed for construction and the lower section Glen Boulder Trail (to Direttissima junction) is also closed to hiking. So it's a good excuse for getting Direttissima checked off.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Standing/Running Water on Trail, Snow/Ice - Frozen Granular, Mud - Minor/Avoidable, Snow/Ice - Monorail (Stable), Mud - Significant, Snow/Ice - Monorail (Unstable), Snow/Ice - Postholes
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment: Light Traction
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: This route only had one significant crossing to worry about which was Rocky Branch at Iso Express. As Rick mentioned, waders / trash bags would be the only way one could keep dry feet. We scouted a few options in both directions but decided to wade through the wider (slower) section with our boots as we were on our way out.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: A good amount of debris in the trails but overall not too bad. Typical blowdowns in the wilderness area. A few obstructions on Davis Path north of North Iso.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes:
Bugs
Bugs: Some flying around. Had a mosquito bite.

Comments
Comments: Glen Boulder Trail is snow and ice free past the ledges until the section back in the spruces. This section still has deep snow, sections 2"+ deep, and possible to punch through at any time. This morning it was decently supportive but once going off trail to avoid blowdowns you will sink past your knees. Davis Path heading south was the expected mixed bag of alternating bare trail and sections of degrading snow. Use caution on any snow here as there may be running water underneath; one of these sections I was not paying attention and postholed hard passed my knee and foot landed awkwardly on rocks below.

On the way down we took variation of Iso Express then avoided the last two crossings on Rocky Branch via heardpath.
