Water Crossing Notes: No issues crossing anything
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Several walk-around blowdowns including one large one beneath South Tri and one or two over/unders. There was one messy spot I think between North and Middle Tri with a few tangled blowdowns that totally obscured the trail.
Dog-Related Notes

Bugs
Bugs: Saw very few on trail and none were biting although the parking lot had a ton in the afternoon for some reason (also not biting).

Comments
Comments: The 3.6mi of Livermore Rd to the Tripyramid Loop trail passed pretty quickly being mostly flat. After about half a mile on the loop trail the climbing really began. I now appreciate why people suggest NOT taking North slide when it is wet. It was pretty uncomfortable, especially the smooth ledgey areas at the bottom. After 2 failed attempts to get through the bottom section I found a way that my pup and I were able to manage. From the top of the slide, the remainder of the loop trail was relatively tame. There were some small patches of snow and ice that were mostly avoidable except for a few. I meant to bring microspikes but I forgot them at home and ultimately wouldn't have used them anyway. Descending the South slide was steep but pretty straightforward and the hike back to Livermore road passed through some really beautiful forests that are starting to green up. All things considered, another amazing day in the mountains (aren't they all, though?).
