Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: The one notable crossing of Fields Brook (just above nice cascade) was rock-hoppable, or step on bed couple inches below surface. 
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: 2 blowdowns with diameters >12" to throw a leg over. The one on High Ridge Trail between Black Snout and Shaw had branches sawn off and the one between Big Ball and Black Snout was well worn over, likely by moose.

Bugs
Bugs: It was a breezy damp morning so only a few mosquitos. By the early afternoon (humid near 70) the black flies (not biting yet) were making appearance at the TH.

Comments
Comments: Superb conditions counterclockwise loop, if you consider a refreshing cool breeze in the fog above 2K with no views superb (I'll take it for the no bugs and very few people!!). Trail very clear up to Big Ball but the understory and grass starting to grow in though between Big Ball and Black Snout (until more folks start trodding it down). Our party of 6 saw one other hiker on this section.
