| Comments: |
Route: Up Gale River/Frost to Galehead; Up Twinway to South Twin; Out/Back to North Twin; Twinway to Zealand and down to the hut; Then Zealand Tr to Zealand Rd. The only area with significant snow was Twinway from South Twin to Zealand summit spur. There was 1 to 2' feet of semi stable to unstable snow there and we put spikes on & off several times in this area. Between North & South Twin and from Zealand to Zeacliff there were sections of snow but not more than 1' deep and it was debatable whether it was worth switching to spikes. (Generally we chose to use spikes on the downhill sections but not on the uphill.) |
