Hancock Notch and Cedar Brook Trails are free of snow and ice. We did the loop counter-clockwise upon recommendation of Hiker Dad. It was a good choice! We barebooted up South, still a bit of snow and ice on the upper part of the climb, but did not need spikes. Short sections of narrow, mostly unstable monorail between the peaks, but mostly bare ground on the ridge (so nice!) - no need for spikes across the ridge. No snow-ice from North Peak back to the junction. Great day for Hancocks after some showers at the beginning. |
