Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Parking on the side of Sandwich Notch Road for 3-4 cars. Parking area was muddy. Sandwich Notch Road is quite rough in a few places (coming in from Route 49). Low clearance vehicles would have to take it slowly. Saw mostly motorcycles.

Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Algonquin: three trees about .7 from the summit. Two duck unders (one almost a crawl), and one larger walk around. Mary Cary Falls Spur appears to have been brushed in at the beginning even though it’s on the AMC map and spreadsheet for the trace (30th edition). Is this a closed trail?

Comments
Comments: Algonquin Trail was in beautiful shape and has nice view ledges. The T25 parts weren’t difficult IMO. I really loved the top section above the Black Mountain Pond junction that runs along a ridge. Beautiful woods! Black Mountain Pond Trail has some fun scrambles and they were fine to descend. The trail was in great shape (less wet than I expected). We stopped at BMP to check out the camping area (two tent pads (one tiny, one large), a fire ring, even some wood already collected). Many areas are closed for revegetation. Guinea Pond is wet as expected. I think we ended up cutting back to the old path along the road too early. There needs to be better marking where it redirects into the powerlines. There is a lot of work happening on the powerlines, so maybe that’s why we got confused.
