Multiple blowdowns on Flume Slide Trail. Unfortunately didn’t have my saw with me this trip. Many could be cleared with a small saw. |

| Dog-Related Notes: |
Didn’t see any. Not sure how a dog would do on The Flume Slide. |
|
| Bugs: |
Noticed them coming down from Liberty on Liberty Springs Trail. Minimally bothersome but eventually did put on the bug spray. |

| Comments: |
Flume Slide was wet as usual. Had to do a fair amount of scrambling and grabbing on to tree branches but no ice. I found myself wondering if anyone has the balance and traction to not put their hands down going up the slide. Some small patches of hard monorail between the two peaks but easy to dodge and they won’t last long. No spikes needed. Summits were dry and beautiful despite partly cloudy conditions. The right turn on the path just before the junction of Flume Slide and Franconia Ridge Trail is easy to see and worth the short walk out to the crag for a nice view. Liberty Springs Trail is mostly dry. There’s now a stone wall at the “bushwhack” path that wasn’t there when I came down in February. Definitely trying to dissuade people from taking this cut-off to shorten trip back to bike path. |
