| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Parked in pull outs along Long Pond road at the TB trail head. Pullout on east side has space for 2 smaller vehicles. Across the road is an entrance to a field blocked by boulders. Parking here was harder, had to park at an angle to ensure car was completely off the road (instead of front in). |
| Surface Conditions: |
Dry Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable |
| Recommended Equipment: |
| Water Crossing Notes: |
All rock hopable. Several muddy spots, also rock hops |
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Tunnel Brook trail was in excellent shape. One spot may have been recently cleared, but initial 2 miles from LP road were in good shape. |
| Dog-Related Notes: |
Would not recommend the bushwhack route for pups. However, a walk on tunnel brook trail would be great fun for any pup. Gradual ascent. Several flowing water crossings provide cooling drinks and spots to wash muddy paws. |
| Bugs: |
Actually, not too bad. |

| Comments: |
Hiked to about 2000 ft elevation on tunnel brook trail before heading into the woods. Ascended up to and along the SE ridge, on and off herd paths most of way to the summit. Started gradual, then got steeper for a short while. Couple of blow down patches were relatively easy to get around or through. Views through trees of Moosilauke. |
