Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Today was a patrol along Round Pond Trail (Pawtuckaway State Park). I cleared minor blowdowns and cleaned many drainages. My turnaround point was at a big mess of two large trees near the second crossing of Reservoir Rd. I started doing some trimming here but ran out of time. I will get back to it tomorrow but I think some chainsaw work will also be needed here.

Bugs
Bugs: Granted there was some wind today which helped things, but it also felt like the black flies have lessened since last week. Mosquitoes and horse flies are now making their presence known.

Comments
Comments: A warm day in the park today but having the wind helped.

The only wet section of this trail is at the beaver swamp, where the critters have dammed it to create a pond. This has created some minor flooding across the trail. At the moment, the water is not deep and can easily be walked through.

Only saw two other folks on trail but as I was wrapping up, campers were steadily arriving at the park for the holiday weekend.
