Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Little River had good flow and was not crossable without getting wet. I crossed about 100yds upstream where it was calmer and straightforward but then had a short bushwhack back to trail. Returned the same way comfortably.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Blowdowns on North Twin Trail: Large stepover about 200yds from Haystack Rd trailhead, barely-a-duck-under at 1.5mi, stepover at 2.5mi, and a duck/crawl under at 3.1mi.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes:
Bugs
Bugs: None to speak of! Granted it was low 40F's at 7am start, but still, no bugs all day except a few flying around late afternoon down low adjacent to Little River.

Comments
Comments: Out&back from Haystack Rd trailhead over North Twin, South Twin, and Galehead. Plan on getting wet crossing Little River. I crossed about 100yds upstream where it was calmer with a short bushwhack back to trail on the west side - returned the same way comfortably. Trail was largely dry, a little water higher up, and only a handful of easily negotiable patches of snow left between the Twins. A few mud spots were easily avoided. Views from South Twin were first rate on this bluebird day with unlimited visibility. Decided to tag Galehead as well given the fantastic conditions. South Twin down to Galehead hut is dry. Galehead hut was closed today, though bathrooms were available, as is a potable water spigot outside. Loads of folks out enjoying the perfect weather today. Many Pemi loop backpackers and a group doing single-day Pemi.
