| Water Crossing Notes: |
There is a wooden bridge (in great condition) over the stream at the bottom of Doublehead Ski Trail. The rest can be jumped over or have logs. |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
There is a waist-height climb-over blowdown blocking Old Path north of its junction with New Path.
Old Path seems not to be blazed. Although it is not very difficult to follow it, still it might be worth adding blazes. |
|
| Dog-Related Notes: |
Fine for dogs. |
|
| Bugs: |
Lots of swarming mosquitoes - bring a head net, wear long-sleeved clothing, etc. No biting black flies. |

| Comments: |
We ascended to the true summit of South Doublehead via Old Path, retraced steps to the Old Path-New Path junction at the col, continued north along Old Path to the North Doublehead summit, and descended along the entirety of Doublehead Ski Trail. Old Path up to the col is steep, but the footing is good.
The best view is from the short side spur that is 200 feet west of the point where New Path turns left (where the South Doublehead spur to the east branches off). |
