Hiking Trail Conditions Report |

Shelburne Moriah Mountain, Mt. Moriah, NH |
| Trails: |
Shelburne Trail, Kenduskeag Trail, Rattle River Trail |
| Date of Hike: |
Saturday, May 25, 2024 |
| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Parking for the Shelburne Trail is on Route 2. This adds at least an extra mile of road walking along Connor Brook Road, which is closed (washed out), and probably won't reopen this year. It's an easy walk, and then you're walking the woods road on Shelburne Trail for another 2 miles, so prepare for some road walking (it goes by quick) |
| Surface Conditions: |
Dry Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable |
| Recommended Equipment: |
| Water Crossing Notes: |
Only 2 major crossings on Rattle River Trail, both very easily rock hoppable right now with the low water, but could be treacherous in high water |
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Long sections of brushing needed on the Kenduskeag Trail, both east and west of Shelburne Moriah. Getting close to having negative clearance, but easily passable for hikers still |
| Dog-Related Notes: |
Great for dogs aside from some short scrambles |
| Bugs: |
Some black flies and mosquitos, not bad |
| Lost and Found: |

| Comments: |
Very quiet hike even on a busy weekend. Don't step off the bog bridges on Kenduskeag Trail around the summit of Shelburne Moriah. I'm serious. |
