Tiny dribble of a brook at 1.2 mi and that’s it. |

Great shape. I noted a field survey marker at the 0.2 mark that I don’t recall seeing in the past along with a sign and red blazes on a tree about it. |

Gnats plentiful at top but manageable as long as you kept moving - although we bug-sprayed at car and summit to prevent them, and the hubby donned a bug at the top. Saw one black fly but not more and not biting. |

Our go-to training hike when time is short. With a 2:30 pm start we opted not to trek over to Owlshead.
I swear that the first overlook had been cleared of tall trees since last May when we were here, whether by a storm or human efforts. We savored the same stunning Presi’s view I’ve always loved about here, from both here and the adjacent side path. |
