Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: No significant water crossings
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: The beginning of the trail that runs through a wetland area is inundated with water. There are some sticks in the water that help keep the boots out of the mucky liquid. However, these sticks are susceptible to sinking and rolling so it is not secure footing. Rock stepping stones would be helpful in this section of trail. The remainder of the trail is in generally good condition with no obstructions. Some tree fall logs and branches have been emplaced to block usage of secondary trails that have developed off the main pathway.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Fine for dogs
Bugs
Bugs: There were bugs flying about. I donned the head net to keep them off my face.

Comments
Comments: The trails were wet due to last night's rainfall. Water was running over the rocks on the trail above the ledges. The ledges had a mix of wet and dry surfaces. There were enough dry surfaces and flat spots in the wet sections of ledge to permit secure footing.
The Rhodora are in bloom on the summit ledges.
Great views from the historic fire tower. Could see as far as Old Speck under a high cloud ceiling.
