Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: After finishing up on Mountain Trail I headed over to far end of South Ridge Trail (Pawtuckaway State Park), walked up to the Shaw Trail junction, then worked down. Managed to get some trees clear before running out of time but will continue tomorrow. There's some big stuff that will need a chainsaw. The section of Round Pond Road between the Boulder Trail parking area and the pond also has quite a few trees to be dealt with.

Bugs
Bugs: Black flies seem to be gone from the park. There were some mosquitoes and deer flies, but there was also a good breeze to keep them at bay.

Comments
Comments: Aside from the trail work, it was also an interesting day for wildlife. I walked up on a mama turkey with lots of babies and gave them some space and time to get into the woods. I also saw some sort of water snake. I talked with a couple of hikers who said they spotted a porcupine in a tree but I didn't see it.
