Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: All crossable, up to crotch on high water trail.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Yeah, high river is a mess, particularly after the Shelburne intersection. There are a bunch of flagging and most of it is wrong and will get you lost. Moriah Brook has a ton of blow down and mud pits. We got lost right before the last climb.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: 1 dog on Moriah summit. Dogs might have trouble with all the water crossings. Idk
Bugs
Bugs: Yes. Lots.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: The deer fly catcher fell off my hat shortly after the Shelburne intersection on the way to Moriah Brook.

Comments
Comments: Wild river road is still closed.

Don't trust the flagging on high water trail, especially right behind the yellow arrow sign. Just cross the river as the arrow suggests. The flagging led us way of course and no where near the trail. Wow the adventure.

High water between Shelburne and Moriah Brook is the worst part. I'm retrospect, I would have rock hopped on the river rather than try to work around the wash outs. It's very low after Shelburne intersection.

This was Carrie and I's longest hike to date, at 26 miles! This finished spring 48 for me and got a bunch of red lines.
