Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: I squeezed in at the start of the Class VI portion of North Line Rd., at its northern end (can't get to this point from the southern end of the road). Limited room without blocking driveways. LRCT is planning to construct a formal parking area but the location has not been revealed yet.

Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: The new LRCT trail from North Line Rd. has several blowdowns. Right at the start of the trail is a cluster of trees down that makes the first blaze hard to see. In the descending direction, where the footpath portion leaves the woods road shortly below the view ledge, there's nothing indicating this turn. A sign, blaze, or arrow would be good here as this could be an easy turn to miss.
Dog-Related Notes

Bugs
Bugs: No black flies. Mosquitoes were out but weren't really an issue while moving.

Comments: After a winter visit here in 2022, I wanted to check this out again now that LRCT has built a formal orange-blazed trail (0.7 mi. one-way) to the view ledge on the west side of the mountain. This trail begins 0.3 mi. down the Class VI road from where I parked. Mostly easy grades via long switchbacks.

The view ledge is nice but in all honesty it would be great if some tree trimming could be done to open up the view more. If that were done there would be a spectacular wide vista from the Belknaps all the way around to the Ossipees.

No trails lead to the true summit (on private land but no posted restrictions). From the view ledge I followed a woods road east to a T-junction with another road then easily bushwhacked up in open woods to the high point, where there is a small cairn. Total distance from the view ledge was about 0.3 mi.
