Comments
Comments: Valley Way was well-packed, wore microspikes to start and kept them on for Madison and Adams, though some may be more comfortable in crampons for the steep climb to Madison's summit. The Madison hut moose is still there! We saw her grazing a hundred yards away from the hut near the Pine Link trail.

Crusty snow around Adams. Switched to snowshoes just after Adams and kept them on the rest of the day.

Followed what appeared to be some good tracks up to the snowfield below Jefferson, but quickly found ourselves fighting through deep snow and scrub. Once we hit the snowfield, there was good footing and made a direct ascent to the summit. Looked for a good snowshoe route off Jefferson and ended up staying a bit to the west of the loop trail.

Mix of crusty snow and powder drifts to Washington, Monroe and Eisenhower. The snowfield above Lake of the Clouds hut was a little tricky - passable in snowshoes as is, but if it had been any icier, we would have used crampons.

Lots of snow from Eisenhower to Jackson that made for some great snowshoeing. Other parties had tracked these sections out beautifully. From Jackson down to 302 is well-packed and microspikable.

Perfect weather to be out on the Presis. Nice to run into Bryan and Cynthia heading northbound on a big day of their own.
