On the way up, an excavator was smoothing crushed gravel on Cold Spring Rd but said I could go by. Coming down Faraway Cutoff, I could hear the excavator working farther up Cold Spring Trail. On the short segment of Cold Spring Trail there was new crushed stone on the muddy area but the blocked culvert not fixed. As the trail approached Cold Spring Rd, it was blocked by 2 huge piles of crushed stone which I circled in the woods. There was a sign new since that morning at the road that Cold Spring Trail was closed for repairs until about 6/25 but nothing at the kiosk. You can certainly walk this short section unless somebody is there to forbid it, but another route might be better. |
