Today was our 48 Peaks Alzheimer’s hike -given the weather report we diverted to the Spur trail and aimed to have lunch at Crag Camp. Our plan was to regroup there and decide if we should push to the ridge, maybe Thunderstorm Junction, or even the summit. At the camp it was pouring rain, temps had dropped, visibility was low and winds were picking up -so we retraced our steps down spur then headed off on the King Ravine Trail to Lowe’s Path and then made the loop back to Appalachia on the link. A few times.had some picturesque views of the ravine between the clouds. A great time was had by all and we look forward to getting up Adams on a nicer day. Lady Slippers on the Link and Amphibrach -swoon. Most trails were in good shape -see notes above re: King Ravine) |
