Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Plenty of room at the trailhead on Mountain Rd. today. There are signs asking folks to park head in and not parallel in order to make more room.

Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Both crossings of Andrew Brook are low and easy right now. According to a sign at the first crossing requesting donations, it looks like a footbridge is planned for this location.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Andrew Brook: Lots of trail creep and herd paths by hikers going around stuff they don't need to (water, mud, boulders, ledge) which is exacerbating the existing erosion issues; noted several scattered step over blowdowns that all looked old and may have been left in place as they aren't impeding travel; about 0.2 mi. above the trail register (which is broken, btw) there is a large trunk down that appears to have chainsaw cuts but wasn't moved and is easy enough to step over; drainages need cleaning. Solitude: The only blowdown of note is just uphill from the lake where a tree has fallen lengthwise into the trail.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes:
Bugs
Bugs: Some mosquitoes but too bad overall.

Comments
Comments: Expect copious mud on Andrew Brook Trail, especially above the wooden steps. Otherwise things were mainly damp from the recent rains. Some areas of slippery ledge on both trails.

Good views from all the places despite the lack of sun. Temps were comfortably cool and there was no rain although it looked like it was incoming at times.

Aside from two contractors working at the summit lodge and a handful of hikers of Andrew Brook, it was a quiet day on the mountain.
