| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Easy parking at end of Haystack Road. Enough room for several cars. There were 3 there when we arrived at 7:30 AM, room for at least 6+ more. |
| Surface Conditions: |
Wet Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Standing/Running Water on Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable, Mud - Significant |
| Recommended Equipment: |
| Water Crossing Notes: |
Crossed Little River once, about 30 yards upstream from trail, look for path to left along river. Rock-hoppable with care ( we have long legs). All other side streams easy rock-hops. |
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Three large blowdowns on trail up to North Twin. East to step over. |
| Dog-Related Notes: |
Saw one well-behaved, leashed dog having a great hike. |
| Bugs: |
Temps in 50s so bugs were minimal. Some flying around, but none biting. Did not need headnet. That said, a warmer day could be another story. |

| Comments: |
A misty day hiking in a cloud. No views but flowers and singing birds were fabulous and made up for it. Saw 7 other people, one NOBO thru-hiker on South Twin. Trail was wet the whole way ranging from damp to mud to long stretches of deep puddles -- especially between North and South. But, plenty of well-placed rocks made for easy travel and dry feet. Hearing 2 Bicknell's Thrush sing was a real treat. |
