As these trails mostly follow old logging roads, they are in good shape for what they are. All blazing is in place and signage is coming soon. |

A few deer flies were buzzing around but otherwise the bugs were surprisingly absent. I did find one tick when I got home. |

Some more exploration and data gathering as the trail system here nears completion.
While there is no view at the summit of Birch Ridge, there are some interesting views coming down the more open NW side of Birch Ridge Trail, including one all the way out to Carter Notch in the Whites.
The forest here continues to slowly recover from the extensive logging that occurred before SELT acquired the property. |
