I drove up Carter Mountain Rd as far as I was comfortable - really rough at beginning and big across-road puddles I just drove through |

the rocky chasm partway up is always a little slippery - running water nearby (albeit very light) |

very brushy and not obvious. Easy to lose trail after it turns off to the right, going up the "headwall" - above the large logged area |

Terrific views from ledges down side of hill a bit from cabin (different from ledges right across from cabin). Could easily miss some turns if you aren't paying attention. The first primary turn off Carter Mountain Road looks more like a berm that ATV's go over - after that looks like ATV trail up to big log clearing. |
