Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: The Crossing about 2 miles from the North Twin Trailhead requires a bit of agility but is certainly crossable. There is an alternate way of crossing a up the river a bit but we chose to just rock hop. Besides this there are a couple easy creeks.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: A few blowdowns but nothing notable.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Many good boys and girls were on the trail
Bugs

Comments
Comments: What a fun hike. North Twin Trail is the quintessential White Mountain trail, it's a little bit of a grind without views but the payoff is worth it. The outlook on North Twin is spectacular but nothing compared to South Twin. I recommend setting aside a bit of time to enjoy the 360 degree views on South Twin (saturday the winds were blowing us over but Sunday we spent an hour basking in the sun). If skies are clear you can easily see Mt. Monadnock to the south and the Green Mountains to the east. I'd hear the twinway down to Galehead Hut was tough and it was, however ascending it the next morning was my favortie portion of trail for the weekend. Galehead hut is wonderful and the staff are fabulous, worth the money for sure. Galehead's peak has no view but the outlook a few minutes below the top has a good view, especially at golden hour. Got 3 4k's checked off and had a great weekend!
