| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Six cars at 19MB at 7:30am, a few more at 4pm. |
| Surface Conditions: |
Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Standing/Running Water on Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable |
| Recommended Equipment: |
| Water Crossing Notes: |
Two bridged on 19MB, then a couple higher up that were easy rock hops, but which could be a problem with a lot of water flowing at times. |
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Trails are generally in good shape. There are a few blowdowns, but most are easy stepovers or "sit and swing legs over." One between the two Carters is low, very dead, and branched enough that there is a herd path around it. |
| Dog-Related Notes: |
None today. It would have been tough a dog, which must keep cool by respiration, and harder in humidity. |
| Bugs: |
None really noticeable for a few miles, while the woods still were cool. They (black flies) were more active and biting crossing the Carters and descending, but staying moving along helped. |

| Comments: |
Warm, very humid hike. I went through a lot of water for that distance. |
