Six Husbands would appreciate some brushing, or could be a lost trail soon. |

| Dog-Related Notes: |
Did not see any on our travels today. The Northern Presidentials are NOT ideal for dogs. The rocks are very sharp and rough for their paws and pads. Please leave them home |

| Bugs: |
Black flies were ferocious in areas where the snow had melted last. |

This was a lollipop style route, using Caps Ridge as our start and finish route.
We started early in attempts to beat some of the heat and impending thunderstorms. The trail heading up Caps Ridge is in good shape down low. We beamed off Caps to the right for Cornice trail first, making our way around the southern side of Jefferson, in search of some of the last snow patches of the season. No AT hikers on Gulfside when we took Six Husbands to the summit of Jefferson, but a few when we returned to begin the descent of Six Husbands to Edmunds Cutoff. Here, just below Gulfside, was (one of) the last patch(es) of snow! Six Husbands and Edmunds Cutoff are incredibly brushy. Even for “wilderness” standards. We found the Gulfside spring on the Cutoff (just below Gulfside) was flowing nicely. Spaulding spring had decent water as well. The northern side of the Cornice was rough and steady, with no other hikers on it. We each came off of this trail with our share of cuts from the talus, and TBD bruises. |
