| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Plenty of parking at Caps Ridge TH, all day most likely. |
| Surface Conditions: |
Dry Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Standing/Running Water on Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable |
| Recommended Equipment: |
| Water Crossing Notes: |
All well marked water crossings along Castle Ravine trail were decently flowing so the moss covered rocks prohibited anything but wading on through over the ankles mostly. One deeper area had log to sidestep across on, holding another fallen limb (right at chest height!) |
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Can't thank the RMC enough for keeping up with the Link. Well blazed between Castle Ravine and Castle and plenty of "recent" work on norther third of Link between Caps and Castle. The last hundred yards or so at the Caps terminus is pretty overgrown with ferns but visible enough. |
| Dog-Related Notes: |
| Bugs: |
just a few mosquitos at the TH, none on the Link end to end. |

| Comments: |
Made it up and over Jefferson as the spitting rain started (1030-ish). The out and back from Caps had originally included Adams, but aborted at Edmonds col. due to incoming rain and increasing wind. Didn't think I could make the Caps (or even Castle) descent via Cornice before the sky opened up so went down the Ravine...thought that would never end! Started raining off and on as I made the tree line. What a beautiful day in the forest! Glad I wasn't on the ridge, but I had seen about 20 folks in varying groups between Jefferson Loop and the col, making for Lakes. I got a MWO report at noon: steady 55, gusting to 70 with 33deg wind chill.
