Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Saw four dogs today. Northern presi’s not great for most and was really hot there in the sun!
Bugs
Bugs: Wasps buzzed us pretty good at Clay Summit. Appeared to be in the summit cairn. We moved along quickly and took our snack break at the northern knob with equally great views

Comments
Comments: Everything but the presidential traverse or as we named it today, the “Gentlemen’s Traverse”. Only hit Clay summit. Cleaned up many trails for redlining-only two trails remaining!!! Pine link is an awesome approach to the hut. The last mile is kind of annoying talus-hopping but was great until then with some unique views. I have to be the only human to ever hike the entire Cornice twice in a month. Was easier with a 36-year old than a 6-year old for sure! When beginning Westside two Cog employees were hiking down, one with an axe. I asked him if it was for hikers who mooned the train? A hilarious conversation ensued. Main takeaway was if you moon the train you will likely get coal thrown at you and possibly a federal court appearance in Concord if you’re dumb enough to get caught! Westside trail was incredibly smooth footing-opposite of the cornice. A real pleasure and views are amazing. Hordes of hikers between westside and LOC. Smooth sailing on Crawford. After 10 years of hiking together Dan is now officially known as “Trail Creep”, a well earned trail name! He is also impressively sunburned from the knees down from todays effort. We counted 88 hikers and 4 dogs, excluding people at the two huts. Fantastic day above treeline.
