The second and third crossings were snow bridged over. We avoided the first crossing by taking the old trail portion. My guess it is probably frozen over also. |

Conditions: Several inches of new crusted over snow down low with increasing depths the higher one got, to about 5 to 6 inches of new power on the ridge and summit. Some places had about a 1/2 inch of crust on top of the fresh snow. The water crossings were all snow bridged over. A few blow-downs now and then. We were the first group on the trail today and broke the trail out with snowshoes car to car. The trail is nicely broken out all the way to the summit.
Beautiful day with sun and no wind. Great day out with Hiker Ed, Gary Tompkins, and Susan Harvey. Nancy and Charlie Foote caught up to us at the summit. We saw a group of four others, with snowshoes, on the trail, so the trail is in fine shape right now. We didn't see any tracks coming up from Bangor Rd. |
