| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
At the junction of Black Snout Trail and High Ridge Trail, the sign says that Black Snout is 0.5 miles to the right. If one then descends south on Black Snout Trail for 0.3 miles, one reaches the junction with Black Snout spur, and again a sign says that Black Snout is 0.5 miles away. In reality, the first sign should say 0.6 miles, and the second sign should say 0.3 miles.
There is a blowdown on High Ridge Trail (I think it was east of Oak Ridge Cutoff), and another on Black Snout Trail (between High Ridge Trail and the Black Snout spur).
Several of the trails are a little overgrown, with grass and bushes up to knee length. Nowhere is it thick enough to impede movement, but I really wanted to check for ticks after pushing through all that (didn't seem to get any, though).
The trails are well blazed and easy to follow. |

| Dog-Related Notes: |
Fine for dogs. |
|
| Bugs: |
Got 3-4 black fly and mosquito bites on my elbows, even while using picaridin. But the bugs were not so bad that I felt the need to put on my head net. |
