Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: A few small streams
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: It's the AT so well maintained. Quite a bit of mud on the upper section of Success trail and along the Mahoosuc Trail to the summit with plenty of timber planking.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: The only part you have to worry about is the chimney on the Mahoosuc trail. I hiked with my two cattle dogs. One pup had no issue going up and down but she's fearless. The other I did have to pick up.
Bugs
Bugs: Lots of bugs but were only bothered by the big flys who would simply fly around your head.

Comments
Comments: First mile or so has easy footing and more of a steeper dirt path. It then changes to rocks, roots, and several mossy rock ledges. Incredible views from the Outlook and well worth the effort. We did not go over to the crash site because we were nervous the dogs might cut there paws on any remaining debris.
