| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Plenty of space at the roadside pull-off off of Rt. 25A at 11:30am. |
| Surface Conditions: |
Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Mud - Minor/Avoidable |
| Recommended Equipment: |
| Water Crossing Notes: |
The main branch of Brackett Brook was easy rock hopping. All the other crossings were even easier, sometimes even dry. |
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Blowdown about 0.5 mile up Mt. Cube Trail. Another one a little below the point where North Peak Side Trail goes off to the right. Other than that, the trail is in excellent shape. |
| Dog-Related Notes: |
Fine for dogs. |
| Bugs: |
Some mosquitoes, especially down low, but not at all bad; I used some picaridin, and I'm not sure I got bitten at all. I didn't feel the need to put on my head net. |

| Comments: |
The White Mountain Guide mentions a "ladder ascending a slipper ledge" on Mt. Cube Trail on the way up to the ridge, but we didn't see one, unless it meant the gradually ascending wooden steps a little before reaching the ridge.
It is worth visiting both the South Peak and the North Peak - they are quite different. |
