Bugs
Bugs: Was hot and humid so the black flies were out. Deerflies were annoying too. Used bug spray and it helped no bites but they flew around my ears.

Comments
Comments: Mexico is a nice warm up and the caves are after the Mexico summit. After it dips down to the only real water crossing then starts a gradual then steeper climb. There was a gully of rocks, dirt and debris that you go up and take a sharp right halfway up. I continued up and bushwhacked right back to the trail. Fun quick scramble! There is a lookout ledge on the way to the summit. Also, Im going to time it right next year because there is a bunch of Rhododendron bushes the were just past blooming in between the lookout ledge and summit. Once on summit if you if you turn left and go down a little there is a huge flat ledge and great unobstructed view of Whiteface and Passaconaway. Heading down Lawrence is a mix of sand and woods. Is it the easier, sure footed way down. Going up Old Paugus has a couple of rocks and that was surprisingly slippery and that gully is a scramble. I would recommend this loop counterclockwise.
