Large dog ran out from home to threaten me as I road walked the trail near Center Pond. Owner didn't seem to care. That area has a bad vibe (trail had to be re-routed a few years ago to avoid someone). |

Got worse as the weather became warmer and more humid. Mosquitoes and gnats mainly. |

| Comments: |
Dropped off at Newbury trailhead on Wednesday afternoon, July 3. Tented near Moose Lookout shelter that night. On Thursday I tented at Fox Brook tent site. And on Friday I stayed in the Spiltoir Shelter as conditions deteriorated. Exited at Dublin trailhead on Saturday (have already climbed Monadnock from there, and the weather was hot, humid, with downpours coming later in the afternoon.) The trail was in generally good shape, just a few blow downs. Water was somewhat scarce from Lake Solitude to Bog Brook. |
