| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Magalloway road and Tower took some serious hits from the 7/10 storm. Several washouts and collapses. High clearance may be a MUST if more heavy storms hit in the near future. Tower has a ravine about 2.4-2.5 miles from the trailhead, impassable for my CRV had to hoof it in from there. Saw a man in a truck manage it when I was leaving but it was tricky, you need precise wheel placement!Use caution up there! |

Saw one pup up there, I believe it was MNM! Coot is steep but dogs could handle this hike I’m sure! |

Unfortunately my timing was off today and got some rain at the summit, watched the forecast very closely and hoped to avoid but was lucky to still get a view from the tower tho, but no time to hang around and explore. The extra 2.5 of road walking was a bummer. Very humid conditions as well, making for a little sluggish movement on the ascent. These two trails definitely need some TLC!! This mountain is awesome, but as I read before Bobcat is very overgrown, considering the time of year I understand it, but both Coot and Bobcat could use some help. Looking forward to my next mountain next month! Will post pics on FB 52WAV group |
