Bugs
Bugs: The horse flies were HORRIBLE on the lower ends of the trail. In one wack I got 4 of them at once. Literally covered in them at the bottom of the north end of the trail. On the way back up I put my poles above my head and that seemed to help tremendously

Comments
Comments: Blueberry Mountain trail is a nicely maintained trail that never has and overly steep grades. My plan was to do a out and back of Blueberry Mountain trail from south to north and a bushwack over to Jeffers Mountain from the summit of Blueberry. Once I got to the summit of Blueberry mt. I found a side path that led me in a northeast direction. I even found a few old carins at first before the trail faded out. It was pretty easy going thru mostly open woods. I followed along the hogback ridge stumbling across a small section of the long closed trail every now and then till I reached the summit and found the canister and sign. I had been the first one up there since late May. The canister is in good condition, but one of the bands attaching it to the tree has broken. From there I followed the ridge back down, staying right on top of it back over to Blueberry. It took about 2 hours to do the 3.2 miles out and back to the summit of Jeffers. From the summit of Blueberry I hiked down to the northern terminus of the trail and retraced my steps back up and over to my car at the southern trailhead.
